About

I was born and brought up in Wallasey, Merseyside and studied painting and photography at the University of London Goldsmiths College.

I studied at the Royal Academy Schools, London, UK, on the Post-Graduate Certificate in Painting.

Theatre work

After these studies I worked for seminal theatre group, Welfare State in Burnley, Lancashire, UK, at the Blackie Arts Centre in Liverpool and at the Action Space Drill Hall in Chenies Street, London. After working with touring company Action Space Mobile in Sheffield, I freelanced with IOU Theatre as a production manager and M6 Theatre company as stage manager and production manager.

After a move back to London, I worked at the Arts Theatre as a stage manager and as a technician in London’s West End at the Arts Theatre, Comedy Theatre, Victoria Palace Theatre, English National Opera, Old Vic, National Theatre.

About my teaching and lecturing

I moved into teaching and lecturing in Performing Arts at Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education, North East Lincolnshire, UK. I have worked as a senior manager at Linkage College and at North-East Lincolnshire Adult Education.

Poet and writer

I now work as a poet and writer of short fiction. I have studied poetry at Oxford University with Kate Potts and fiction at Cambridge University with Jem Poster and Sarah Burton.
