Poetry Publication – A Gracious Month

This poetry publication is a pamphlet which collects together all the poems written during April 2018 during #NaPoWriMo‘s National Poetry Writing Month. Published in February 2021, It is available both as an eBook and in paperback (ISBN 9798715707567.

By way of context, it contains the fifty poems and the prompts that stimulated the writing of them. And so they form a complete entity, both in the manner of writing and the styles of writing.

And so there’s pastiches, comedic inventions, wordplay, free verse, metred verse – lots of different stuff. The intention is to gather them into a single pamphlet as I think they deserve to be all together so that you (and I) can see how they came to be written.

Poetry Publication with Pure Slush – Love

Pure Slush has extensively published my short fiction but for Volume 4 of the Lifespan series, they chose to publish my poem Consumer.

Online poetry publication – voidspace zine

Voidspace zine is an online magazine which focuses on games and interactive art. This poem, based on a quotation from Victor Hugo, Not being heard is no reason for silence, is in a form which I have been developing and which I’ve named a ‘grid poem’. I’ve placed individual words in a grid in such a way that the reader can derive different meanings depending on how s/he navigates a pathway through the grid. This zine is free to access.

2 gothic poems – Strange Meeting and Spark

These narrative poems are deliberately written as a pastiche of a Victorian poet and touch on a macabre and dream-like world. Spark is a reworking of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Tinderbox. Published in 2018.
